Mint chocolate chip ice cream

1 qt half and half 1 qt heavy whipping cream 3 c sugar 2 tsp vanilla 1 tbsp peppermint 3 c chocolate chips, finely chopped

Mix all ingredients in 4 quart canister. Set canister in ice cream maker. Fill 1/4 with ice. Sprinkle on 2/3 c. rock salt. Repeat 4 times. Churn for ~15-20 minutes, until the ice level has gone down some, about an inch. Add more ice and 1/2 c rock salt as often as there is room to. If the mixture becomes too watery, dump out water and add more ice and salt. It goes faster if not in direct sunlight or in a hot day. The sound is less annoying if you do it in a room you are not using.
